This is my first long piece of fiction, my mum and I wrote it together. When she was ill (she still is ill – she’s 86) I talked to her about a story I was planning and she came up with some very useful plot ideas which made the story much better. So I did the writing, mum had ideas, so to show they are different from my social work stuff I published it in mum’s name which also happens to be my middle name – Margaret Pardoe.

Here I am re-united for the first time in Sainsbury’s with my baby!
